UNstudio designed the La Defense office building for Eurocommerce in Almere. The boring grey aluminum exterior of the outskirts of the complex give way to a brilliantly colored canyon that twists its way through the center of the building.
The color in this inner court is rendered by sunlight hitting a foil that was designed for perfume bottles. UN Studio once again follows the concept of a mobius strip in this circulatory system. Points of view are carefully composed along the way, bringing shadow from linear dimension to volume. But the color and brilliance varies greatly depending on weather and lighting conditions. |
