Neue National Galerie, Berlin Germany

This modern art museum in Berlin, Germany was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1968. Much like with his Crown Hall in Chicago, the exterior walls are glass with steel columns supporting the ceiling grid. Additional exhibit space is underground.

The dark structure and floor reflect the natural light, glaring in an unusual way for an art gallery. Some would call it inappropriate.
