Montreal Biodome, Olympic Park Montreal

Roger Taillibert designed the Montreal Quebec Olympic velodrome in 1976, which was converted into the Biodome nature museum in 1992.

It sits at the olympic park in front of the Olympic stadium and its tower, which is the tallest inclined structure in the world. The Biodome now contains massive replicas of North American ecosystems: tropical, forest, Saint Lawrence, and arctic. It costs 4,500 animals and 250 species.

A competition in 2014 sought to revitalize the site and bring a robust dynamic to the site. KANVA and NEUF won this competition, but skyrocketing costs led the city to cancel the contract.
