| The David Adjaye design for the MCA Denver Colorado opened in 2007. A 27,000 ft2 envelope of tinted glass has an interior of translucent and bright materials. A line of concept gallery boxes is slightly contorted and assumes materials according to the city context, almost like Eisenman would do. Fractured pieces of a roof garden allow interesting leisure spaces.Natural light comes in through slitted skylights, and windows that open up to important sight lines. Through strategic use of inexpensive materials, Adjaye achieves an interesting space that fits in the building’s context. |
