Scott Library, York University Toronto Canada

This library at Keele Campus in Toronto is a good example of brutalist modernist architecture, built in 1968. The book stacks rise vertically on one side of a central atrium with private reading rooms and conference halls on the other side. A grid of skylights punches natural light through the concrete frame. An interesting pattern of transparency relates the various programs to the central atrium.
