The Auditorio Ciudad de Leon (Leon Auditorium) was designed by Luis M. Mansilla and Emilio Tuñón, who also did the Leon Contemporary Art Museum. The open gathering space takes on a form with many careful light apertures. The more enclosed space contains the main concert hall. Roman Travertine marble covers the concrete auditorium with rich wood interiors. The pure white then occurs at the angled window apertures (they aren’t so white anymore) to invite people from the street inside.

The project maintains a small-scale presence in an old city begging for community revitalization and less tourism. It opened in 2002 and received the Premio Arquitectura Española 2003.
