Jewish Contemporary Museum, San Francisco California

The Jewish Museum by Daniel Libeskind and WRNS Studio isn’t about preserving history or displaying artifacts, it’s about assimilation and perceptions of the Jewish community in America. It opened this June after severe delays and scale-downs following 9/11, something Libeskind seems to be prone to. The blue steel cladding of this diagonal cube sets into a site of historical brick buildings and pedestrian corridors, near Yerba Buena park.
